Kartasan
Kartasan is a Belgian band formed in 2007 by painter and musician Jan Vandecasteele (vocals/piano). Other members are the Segers brothers Fre(guitar) and Simon(drums) and Matthias Debusschere (bass).
In july 2008 they recorded their first album Another Profile in studio On the Moon(Drongen/B). The finest Belgian horns and strings were invited to take a great deal in the result. One month later Werner Pensaert mixed the album in studio Audioworx(Hogeloon/Nl)
In 2009 Kartasan made a deal with Excelsior Recordings(Nl) to record two more albums in the next five years. That year they played a number of succesfull concerts, such as Gent Jazzfestival, Crossing Borderfestival(Den Haag/Nl), Eurosonic(Groningen/Nl), Ancienne Belgique(Brussel/B) and Vooruit(Gent/B).
As for now, the band is working on new material.
